The N.A.A.C.P.—Lafayette Chapter held its Annual Freedom Fund Banquet in Lafayette this past weekend, where the organization presented Mr. Glenn Armentor with the N.A.A.C.P. Golden Torch Award, the highest achievement given by the organization, for providing educational opportunities to students from socioeconomic deprived backgrounds through his "Pay-It-Forward” Scholarship of Excellence Program. Accepting the award on behalf of Mr. Armentor was Attorney Jeremy Bazile, who was met with a warm applause when he took the time to speak about the invaluable impact the "Pay-It-Forward” scholarship has in the lives of at-risk students, and the plan to take the scholarship program nationwide in the future.
"It is a proven fact that education can combat the growing poverty rate, and Mr. Armentor and all of the attorneys at The Glenn Armentor Law Corporation certainly recognize the role education plays in the lives of these students. We acknowledge that when you give a child a toy, you can change their mood, but when you give a child a book, you can change their world,” Jeremy stated to the banquet audience.
