A
native of New Orleans, John Paul Charbonnet moved to Baton Rouge following high
school and enrolled in LSU. He graduated from LSU in 1985 with degrees in
political science and history. He continued his formal education at the LSU Law
School, graduating in 1988.
John Paul began his career as a law clerk for the Third Circuit, Court of
Appeal in Lake Charles, Louisiana. He followed this with a very challenging
position at the Mental Health Advocacy Service, where he was entrusted with the
responsibility of representing the mentally ill , primarily at East Louisiana
State Hospital in Jackson. During his tenure with this mental health
organization, John Paul litigated in district courts throughout the state. In
1991, John Paul moved to Lafayette and joined a defense firm representing
physicians, hospitals, home health agencies, nursing homes, and other health
care providers.
In 1994, John Paul opened a practice representing people who had been injured -
many while obtaining medical care. Finding this arena significantly more
satisfying, he has dedicated all his efforts toward helping those who are hurt
due to the carelessness of others. Throughout his career, John Paul has been
honored to represent very good people with serious injuries and has achieved
excellent results for them. He has experience handling all manner of injuries
including those resulting from automobile collisions, roadway defects, nursing
home neglect, medical negligence, defective products, electrocution and adverse
drug reactions.
John
Paul joined the Glenn Armentor Law Corporation in 2008. His practice is
state-wide, involves all types of personal injury actions, and includes trials
in both state and federal courts.
John Paul’s family includes his wife, Suellyn, and three children, Crystal,
Anna-Kathryn and John Michael.
